Argentine soybean crush in the first two months of the 22/23 season is the lowest in 15 years
The crushing of Argentine soybeans in the first two months of the 2022/23 crop was the lowest in 15 years, with 6.37 mln tons, despite the third edition of the differentiated exchange rate for soybean producers, according to the Rosario Stock Exchange (BCR).
In the 2007/08 season, soybean crushing reached 6.10 mln tons due to concerns with the Resolution 125 of Cristina Kirchner’s administration, which changed the sale process of the oilseed.
From the third edition of the soybean dollar, which culminated in the collection of USD 5.086 bln, doubts arise about the measures that both the Argentine government and the industry will take to obtain the necessary grain to meet their minimum needs.
In this sense, the volume of temporary imports broke the record of 2.616 mln tons, double the previous maximum in the 2020/21 season.
