Argentina invests in new grain port
The Argentine government has announced that it plans to invest about 550 million dollars in the construction of a new grain port in the Rosario region.
The region is considered Argentina’s most important agricultural center, accounting for more than 80% of the country’s agricultural and agro-industrial exports.
Presidential spokesman Manuel Adorni said construction of the new port began in March. The port will be located in Timbuez, on the Parana River, he said.
Bunge, Cargill and Louis Dreyfus are among the companies that operate grain handling facilities in the Rosario port network.
