Almost 29 million tons of new crop harvested in Ukraine
Ukrainian farmers harvested 28 mln 769 thsd tonnes of grain as of the end of summer. Early grain crops were harvested on an area of 6 531 thou hectares with a yield of 44.0 c/ha, including
- 4647 thou hectares of wheat were threshed (yield – 47.2 c/ha), with a harvest of 21939 thou tons;
- barley was harvested on 1484 thousand hectares (yield – 38.9 c/ha), harvested 5766 thousand tons;
- peas were harvested on 154 thousand hectares (yield – 25 c/ha), harvested 385.6 thousand tons;
- millet was harvested on 8.21 thousand hectares (yield – 17.6 c/ha), harvested 14.42 thousand tons;
- buckwheat was harvested on 1.98 thou hectares (yield – 14.7 c/ha), with a harvest of 2.92 thou tons;
- other grains and pulses were harvested on 237 thou hectares, with a total harvest of 661.9 thou tons.
Odesa region remains the leader in grain harvest with 3.2 mln tons, followed by Dnipropetrovska region with 2.6 mln tons and Vinnytsia region with 2.3 mln tons. Zaporizhzhia region has harvested the largest area of grain – 96%.
15 regions have completed rapeseed harvesting. Currently, it has been threshed on an area of 1389 thou hectares, yielding 3985 thou tons of seeds at 28.7 c/ha.
