After a long break, two bulk carriers sailed from Ukrainian ports to the Bosphorus

On the morning of May 28, after a long break due to Russian sabotage of the grain initiative, two 225-meter bulk carriers with Ukrainian agricultural products left the ports of Greater Odesa.

The bulk carrier ELEFSIS, loaded with 64,000 tons of corn, set sail from the port of Chornomorsk to the Bosphorus, and the bulk carrier XIN SHUN, carrying 19,500 tons of barley and 44,000 tons of corn, left the port of Odesa.

In the afternoon, three more vessels approached the Odesa coast to load – two to the Odesa port and one to the Black Sea port.

A total of 12 vessels are currently being loaded in the two ports.

As a reminder, following lengthy negotiations between the delegations of Ukraine, Turkey, the UN and Russia, on May 18, Pivdennyi port was excluded from the grain initiative operators.

In total, since August 1 last year, more than 30.4 million tons of Ukrainian food have been shipped to Africa, Asia and Europe.
