Afghanistan topped the 2020/21 list of wheat importers from Kazakhstan
87.5 KMT of Kazakh flour was exported in August (+1% from July and -10% from August 2019/20).
Exports in the whole 2020/21 season totaled 1.56 MMT (+6% from MY 2019/20, -21% from the five-year average), UkrAgroConsult reports.
As before, the main importer in MY 2020/21 is Afghanistan, whose share expanded to 70% at the expense of Tajikistan and Turkmenistan. The volume of exports to Afghanistan grew by 13%.
Uzbekistan also increased imports, by 4% from MY 2019/20, but its share in Kazakh exports did not change.
The following countries reduced purchases from MY 2019/20: Tajikistan (-39%), Turkmenistan (-28%), China (-18%).
