A protest by truckers and farmers paralyzes traffic on the Bucharest ring road and in several other Romanian cities
In several Romanian cities, including Bucharest, transporters and farmers organized protests on the roads, expressing dissatisfaction with recent legislative changes. This was reported by Digi24.
The carriers went to the rally with their trucks and semi-trailers and are moving slowly in a column at a speed of 5-10 km/h. This, in particular, blocked traffic on several segments of the Bucharest ring road. Journalists note the similarity of the protest method to the actions of German farmers.
Farmers with their tractors are also among the protesters, although many associations said they had nothing to do with the protests and that it was an individual initiative of individual members.
In total, about 120 trucks and 70 tractors are involved in the protests.
The police went to the scene of the protest on the Bucharest ring road in the middle of the day to unblock the highway.
Similar actions are reportedly taking place in several other cities, including Cluj-Napoca.
