A new act of vandalism: Ukrainian grain was once again poured out of railroad cars in Poland
160 tons of Ukrainian agricultural products were spilled from 8 gondola cars at the Polish station Kotomezh on the night of February 24-25.
The cargo was in transit to the port of Gdansk, from where it was sent to other countries, the Ministry of Communities, Territories and Infrastructure said in a statement.
“The Ukrainian side is fulfilling its obligations in good faith and, according to agreements with the Polish government, does not export certain types of agricultural products to Poland. This has been confirmed at the official level – no grain, corn, or rapeseed remains there.
This is the fourth case of vandalism at Polish railway stations. This is the fourth case of impunity and irresponsibility,” commented Oleksandr Kubrakov, Minister of Communities, Territories and Infrastructure Development.
The day before, on February 24, at about 9 am, unknown persons damaged freight cars with beans at the Dorohusk railway station.
“The systematic destruction of Ukrainian agricultural products looks like planned sabotage. Our country defends itself and survives thanks to farmers. So those who committed these crimes are definitely not interested in Ukrainian peace and the victory of the civilized world. We call on the Polish law enforcement authorities to respond immediately,” commented Kubrakov.
“Ukrzaliznytsia has once again appealed to the Polish law enforcement agencies.
