A Turkish cargo ship hit a mine off the coast of Romania in the Black Sea and sustained minor damage. Reuters reports this with reference to sources.

Yesterday at about 9:20 GMT (12:20 Kyiv time), 11 nautical miles north of the city of Sulina, at the entrance to the Sulina estuary, a cargo ship hit a mine.

After the explosion, it anchored to assess the damage. Three hours later, the ship continued to move. The crew was not injured and the vessel sustained minor damage.

A source in the Ukrainian government confirmed the incident to journalists. It could have been either a mine from World War II or a mine from the Russian-Ukrainian war.

At the same time, the head of the Turkish consulting company Bosphorus Observer said that the incident occurred with the Kafkametler ship. And the MarineTraffic ship tracking service shows that the vessel anchored on the Danube near the Ukrainian terminal in Vylkovo.
