The Nepal Flour Mills Association demanded that the government immediately purchase 50,000 tons of wheat from the Indian government. The association also appealed to the government to immediately start the process of importing wheat instead of importing flour. Due to India’s ban on wheat imports, traders are complaining of an acute shortage of flour in the domestic market, reports Myrepublica.nagariknetwork.com.

They claim that due to the ban, they are unable to supply wheat/refined flour according to demand for all large and small hotels, including biscuits, noodles, bakeries, oven-baked cakes, eateries, restaurants that use wheat/refined flour as raw materials. In addition, businessmen claim that even those who have developed the habit of eating bread instead of rice as their daily meal have been directly affected.
