According to the USDA crop tour, as of May 12, 50% of winter wheat crops in the US are in good to excellent condition (unchanged for the week), which is the highest for this time of year since 2020 and also exceeds the corresponding figure of the previous year (29%).

It is also noted that as of the specified date, 28% of winter wheat crops in the country were in the drought zone, compared to 48% a year earlier.

As for the corn sowing campaign in the U.S., by May 12, it was carried out on 49% of the planned areas (+13% per week), which is lower than the average for the last 5 years (54%). At the same time, the grain has already sprouted on 23% of the planted areas, which is higher than the average (21%). At the same time, it is noted that weather delays may prevent the timely completion of the sowing season or force farmers to switch to another crop.

Soybeans in the U.S. planted 35% of the planned area (+10% per week) compared to the average of the last 5 years (34%). Spring wheat sowing has been completed on 61% (+14% per week) of the planned areas, which exceeds the average of 48%.
