The humanitarian program Grain from Ukraine, initiated by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy, has already attracted 43 countries.

This was stated by Olga Trofimtseva, Ambassador-at-Large of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Coordinator of the Council of Exporters and Investors, during a press conference.

“As of today, 43 countries participate in the Grain from Ukraine program. Thanks to the contributions of our partners, we have been able to purchase primarily milling wheat from our farmers and send it to the countries that need it most,” she said.

Trofimtseva noted that under the program, Ukraine supplies food to countries that are on the verge of famine.

As reported, the Grain from Ukraine program was initiated by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. It involves the purchase of Ukrainian grain by partner countries and its transfer to countries suffering from a humanitarian crisis. The program is implemented in partnership with the World Food Program under the auspices of the United Nations.

In total, partner countries have provided nearly $200 million in funding for the program. As part of the program, 110 thousand tons of Ukrainian wheat have already been delivered to some of the most socially vulnerable countries in Africa – Ethiopia and Somalia.
