2022/23 Argentina Corn 25% Harvested vs. 34% Average

Агротрейд

Argentina’s corn crop has withstood the adverse weather this growing season better than the soybeans. We can probably attribute that to the fact that the corn got established before the adverse weather set in, so it did not impact the corn as much as it did the soybeans.

The Argentina corn crop was 25% harvested as of late last week compared to 27% last year and 34% average. This represents an advance of 3.7% for the week. In the core production areas, the corn was 65-75% harvested, while 25-35% of the corn was harvested in southern Argentina and 0% harvested in far northern Argentina. The early planted corn is 50% harvested and the late planted corn is 7% harvested.

Of the corn harvested thus far, the yields are averaging 4,570 kg/ha (72.6 bu/ac) which is up 0.5 bu/ac from the prior week. In the core production areas, the corn yields are in the range of 4,000 to 5,000 kg/ha (63.6 to 79.5 bu/ac). The lowest average yields thus far are in Entre Rios at 2,050 kg/ha (32.5 bu/ac). The highest average yields thus far are in northern La Pampa and western Buenos Aires at 6,280 kg/ha (99.8 bu/ac).
